Sat in London traffic, a song came on the radio that silenced all the outside noise. Like something straight out of a Cohen Brothers western, I instantly had visions of epic films like The Homesman, True Grit and No Country For Old Men. Isaac Gracie has one song on soundcloud, press shots that I’m thinking aren’t actual press shots, and yet his voice, lyrics and sound have such a profound effect. There’s a Kurt Cobain sense of pain to his tone and storytelling. It almost feels like you’re listening to a radio station from years gone by as the melody of ‘Last Words’ takes hold – and it’s brilliant. In an age when pop and dance music are being churned out in every format, Isaac Gracie is refreshing yet nostalgic. We look forward to hearing what’s next.
