We’ve been championing Raye for quite a few years now, and it seems that Sir Richard Branson has become a fan too, as he enlisted the Brit singer, songwriter to be one of the first passengers on Virgin Atlantic’s brand new direct route to Seattle. Not only did Raye jump on board the inaugural flight, she even managed to write a song, 36,000 feet up in the air inspired by passengers on board and their favourite things about the city. The track titled, ‘See you in Seattle’,  gave in flight entertainment a whole new meaning as she surprised customers, cabin and flight crew with a performance of the song alongside her guitarist Aaron Williams.

Speaking about the experience Raye said, “Some of the greatest bands in history have come from Seattle. Writing Seattle has been one of my greatest challenges yet but I hope I’ve been able to capture the essence of the city through the music and lyrics”.

Mark Anderson, Executive Vice President, Customer at Virgin Atlantic commented, “We’re always looking to bring innovative and unique experiences to our customers and to have Raye, one of Britain’s brightest music stars entertain our customers at 36,000 feet is taking things, literally, to the next level. We’re delighted to be launching this new service between London Heathrow to Seattle. As mecca for musicians and innovators, it’s a perfect fit for the Virgin Atlantic brand.”

You can now fly direct from London Heathrow to Seattle. Songwriting talent not required.
