Gurls Talk and American fashion house Coach have teamed up for a very special, one-of-a kind festival taking place in London on Saturday July 1st. The festival will be a day to celebrate and champion female empowerment with a ‘safe place’ for girls to talk, share and be listened to in the most positive of ways. (Have you watched the video above? Click on the play sign).

Gurls Talk was founded by the amazing model Adwoa Aboah. She uses her platform to push the boundaries of what a model is usually expected to talk about. She talks openly and honestly with such a conviction that it’s hard not to stop, watch and listen. You can find some of her inspiring videos on DAZED, who are also supporting the event. Adwoa was recently given the British Fashion Award for Best International Model and we’re super excited for what she’s got lined up.  The event will include a day of talks by influential speakers from Laurie Penny to Hari Nef and workshops themed from dance to healing – not to mention some fashion fun with a photo studio and ‘Coach Dream Station’… Whatever that may be we like the sound of it.

We are so excited to see such a positive platform being created for girls and women and especially in London with everything that’s happening in the city, there couldn’t be a better time to come together and celebrate and support each other. And if you’re a regular reader then you’ll know how passionate we are about mental health and wellbeing with our newly launched section ‘Sabina Hearts’.

We’re lusting over the Gurls Talk tees. And we love that this is the description that sits alongside it online: “This shirt was made by EVERYBODY in Los Angeles by skilled garment workers that are treated like humans, just like you and me. Also, because California is the state with the strictest Environmental Protection Agency standards, it’s inherently more ecological”.

Free Admission. (Yep!) Location: 180 The Strand, London WC2R 1EA Time: 12:00pm-6:00pm

We’ll see you there!
