To coincide with the launch of Sabina Hearts, I, (Sabina) decided to launch a little personal section of ACCESS FASHION as more and more I’m being asked questions about me, and my life.

From prospective interns at interviews, to assistants and friends and family, I always get asked lots of questions about my work and personal life. I didn’t realise that what I did for a living was so intriguing until I noticed the same questions coming up more and more. And often from my clients too… Sometimes the questions are super nosey and private. Sometimes I’m a little shocked. But if you follow me on social media, you may notice that sometimes I ‘overshare’, I often say what I think and how I feel, and I talk about my Dad quite a bit – so I think people think it’s ok to ask me anything and everything…

Working for yourself, being your own boss, freelancing and being your own motivator takes a lot of guts, a lot of self work, self belief, and a lot of mental energy. It can have some really scary and lonely moments which I know my friends in the industry will understand. And I feel like perhaps it’s not talked about enough and ends up looking all a bit too easy.

I also get a lot of questions on how I got in to fashion. When people send in applications I’ve noticed that I’m being asked for advice and tips and the themes tend to be recurring – so I’ll be responding to some of those here too.

SIDE NOTES for me is a personal part of ACCESS FASHION where I’ll talk more about wellbeing, mental health, share quotes, inspirations and ideas. I hope you enjoy it or learn something new, or just get to have a giggle at some of the crazy goings on in my world – that I wouldn’t change for the world.

Lots of love, Sabina. x
