“If you can dream it, you can do it. Always remember that this whole thing was started by a mouse.”
I come from a Disney family. We are literally obsessed. I was nicknamed Mowgli growing up (I’ve only recently learnt to see the funny side), and I’ve dressed up as everyone from Snow White to Alice in Wonderland, and we’ve been to Disneyland and Disneyworld and oh my gooodd we love Disney. I am a sucker for all things Mickey Mouse, from t-shirts, to appliqué patches, notebooks and figurines, my old bedroom at my parents’ house could give Ariel’s Secret Grotto of treasures a run for its money. It’s all about the magic and isn’t that what fashion is meant to be about too?
So imagine my excitement when I saw that Marc Jacobs had released Mickey Mouse sequinned sweatshirts. (They have a red version, and red is my favourite colour, but) I couldn’t resist the grey sweater with the eyelet details. I felt like Mickey stood out way more against the grey.
New brand crush: Mayra Fedane are my new favourite bags and I couldn’t resist this red camo print box bag with gold details. It brings the entire outfit to life yet is still super classy.
I hope I get to do a little feature and interview with them soon as the collections are amazing!
Stylist tip: The sweatshirts are “shruken”, which basically means they’re cropped on the waist and shorter on the sleeve. So be aware of what you wear on the waistline when it comes to cropped pieces as they can totally distort the body. Skinny jeans can work for a super sleek and more sexy look, but I opted for wide legged pants for laid back luxe and a chilled vibe.
