I shot the most amazing blue velvet suit from James Lakeland for U Magazine and my LFW Essentials feature. And yes, I am still very much obsessed with it.

The length was way too long but luckily I had recently bought a pair of extremely high heeled navy platforms for a bridesmaid dress which went perfectly with the suit. It also meant that I didn’t have to hem or pin the trousers. Once you start doing that with velvet there’s no turning back. My favourite thing is that the fabric is stretchy. I have rather curvy hips and so some suit trousers are a little too slim line for my shape – but these fit beautifully and are so comfortable and versatile. I could literally wear this all day.
