When it came to picking my bridesmaids – I really didn’t need much time to think about it. It was more a matter of wondering if William was going to think it was absurd for me to ask all of my girls, to which he replied, totally un-phased, that he didn’t expect anything less. People think I’m being sarcastic when I say I have asked twelve of my nearest and dearest to all be part of my bridal party – but I just couldn’t have it any other way. They all mean the world to me.
Disclaimer: The twelve doesn’t include the little little ones by the way. And my niece isn’t in the pics either.
THE PARTY: I was so delighted that all of my friends who live in the UK could make the party. We had decided the date on account of my sister being in the country that weekend – so it was really special knowing she was going to be there. (She lives in the Middle East).
Joanna is my NY / LA bestie and I love her to pieces. We don’t see each other that often but when we do, our catch ups last for about 24 hours and end with me phoning her as I’m on my way to the airport panicking about diamonds needing to get back to Rodeo Drive. We had spoken about the engagement party I knew it was too big of a trip for her to attend. She mentioned that she may be in Europe that weekend and may be able to make it – and then said it was working out to be a bit too complicated which I totally understood. I even tried to organise visiting her but she insisted against it with me having a lot to organise that week.
I think the whole of London heard me scream when Joanna arrived. She strolled in so casually that I genuinely thought I was hallucinating – even though I was only on my second glass of bubbly. As you can see in the bottom left, I was literally touching her hair to see if she was real!
The rest of our night…
I’m so glad we got to have some photos of us all on the night.
I really can’t wait for all there is to celebrate with these wonderful ladies…
Lucky to have them! x x
